“You have been strong for everyone else. This is a place where you can receive support, too.”

Invest in yourself and your future self

“Discover the patterns that once protected you, may not be the patterns that will carry you into the life you want. Understanding why you became who you needed to be can open the door to choosing who you want to become.”

~ Reflective Counsellor™

You will not be treated as a diagnosis or labeled with a collection of symptoms, nor will you be judged. You will be welcomed as a whole person with a history, relationships, strengths, hopes, and a story that deserves to be heard.

Belonging and connection

“Come as you are. Listen. Reflect. Share when you are ready. Growth does not have to be rushed. In a supportive group, your story remains uniquely yours—but you no longer have to carry it in isolation.”

~ Reflective Counsellor™
Therapy Support Groups Fees:
• Your total investment for the 4 weekly sessions of 90 minutes each is $380 (equates to $95 per week).
• Groups maintain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 participants.

Healing can feel different when you no longer feel alone. Sometimes the most powerful realization is discovering that other people understand what you have been carrying. Therapy support groups provide a professionally facilitated space using evidence-based techniques where participants can learn, reflect, practise new skills, receive encouragement, and experience meaningful connection. Groups are structured, respectful, confidential, and emotionally safe. You will never be pressured to disclose more than you are ready to share.

What You Can Expect from Therapy Support Group

A therapeutic relationship grounded in warmth, respect, and collaboration. Therapy is most effective when you feel emotionally safe, genuinely understood, and actively involved in the process.

During our work together, you can expect:

  • Compassion Without Judgment: You do not need to hide the complicated, painful, or imperfect parts of your experience.
  • Practical Support: Along with meaningful reflection, you will receive tools, exercises, and strategies you can apply outside of therapy.
  • A Pace That Respects You: We will move thoughtfully and collaboratively. You will not be forced to discuss experiences before you feel ready.
  • Attention to the Whole Person: We may explore biological, psychological, social, cultural, relational, spiritual, and practical factors influencing your well-being.
  • Strength-Based Care: Your struggles matter, but they are not the whole of who you are. We will reconnect with your capabilities, values, resilience, and hopes.
  • Clear Goals and Direction: Together, we will identify what you would like to change and regularly reflect on your progress.

A Safe Place: You May Not Need to Become a Different Person

You may simply need a safer place to understand the person you already are. A place to:

  • Recognize what your anxiety has been trying to protect you from.
  • Understand why your body feels exhausted even when your mind tells you to keep going.
  • Grieve what you have lost.
  • Learn that boundaries are not rejection.
  • Reconnect with the parts of you that became quiet while you were busy surviving.

Therapy is not about erasing your past. It is about helping your past carry less power over your present.

Is Therapy Right for You?

You do not need to have the perfect words, know exactly what is wrong, or have a clear treatment goal before reaching out. You may begin with something as simple as:

“I feel overwhelmed.” / “I am tired of carrying everything.” / “I do not feel like myself anymore.” / “I know something needs to change.” / “I want support, but I do not know where to begin.”

That is enough. We can begin there.

Virtual Counselling That Fits Into Your Life

Sessions are offered virtually, allowing you to access professional support from the privacy and comfort of your own space. Virtual counselling may be especially helpful when you have a demanding schedule, live outside a major city, prefer not to travel, or feel more comfortable at home.

Before booking, we will confirm whether virtual counselling is appropriate for your needs and whether services can be provided in your province or territory.

Frequently Asked Questions

The complimentary 15-minute consultation gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy, what kind of support you are looking for, and whether my approach may be a good fit for you. It is not a full therapy session, and you will not be expected to share your entire story.

The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, your current circumstances, your strengths, and what you hope will become different through counselling. We will begin identifying priorities and creating a treatment direction together.

No special preparation is required. You may wish to think about what has been most difficult lately and what you would like help with, but it is completely acceptable to arrive unsure of where to begin.

Participants are expected to protect one another’s privacy and follow clear group confidentiality agreements. The limits of confidentiality will be explained before the group begins. Although the facilitator will establish and reinforce confidentiality expectations, absolute confidentiality among participants cannot be guaranteed.

Participation is encouraged, but you will not be forced to disclose personal information before you feel ready. Many people begin by listening and gradually become more comfortable contributing.

Group therapy can be valuable on its own or alongside individual counselling. The appropriate option depends on your needs, goals, safety considerations, and current circumstances.

Reflective Counsellor™ is not an emergency or crisis-response service. If you are in immediate danger or require urgent support, contact 911 or emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource in your area.

A Gentle First Step

Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly when you are accustomed to handling things on your own. You do not need to commit to a long-term process today. You only need to take the next small step. Your life does not have to remain organized around exhaustion, fear, guilt, or survival. Support is available, and change can begin gradually.
